spiked cider

As most of you know fall is my favorite time of year and what better than sitting outside on a porch swing admiring the pretty colors. This is my favorite fall drink. You can do it hot or cold which ever you prefer. I put it in my favorite Rainforest cup, lights up on the bottom. I always say party in a cup, lol when i have a drink in it ;)

Apple cider (we used a local brand)
Fireball cinnemon whisky

Since I like it cold in the fall months, we keep the whiskey in the freezer and I poured 2 shots in the bottom of my glass and mixed in the cider. :) If you want it warm just keep over a sauce pan and you could add in mulled spices perfect for Halloween festivities or corn mazes.

candy corn nails

Candy corn is one of my favorite candies from fall and I came across these cute nails on pinterest so I thought I'd try and make them myself. The picture is posted before I touched up cuticles with nail polish remover :D.

All you need for these nails is yellow, orange, white polish and glitter or clear coat. I started by painting the whole nail yellow. Then in the middle of the nail I did orange to the finger tip. I then used the white on the tips. I painted over the top a clear glitter top coat. Then take a q-tip with nail polish removed along the edges to clean up the nails. :)

Apple cinnamon wonton's

Fall is my favorite time of year!! I love seeing the leaves turn colors. In Colorado I really only see different yellows but still very pretty. I'm excited to go to the apple orchard and get more apples to make this recipe again it was so good!! We used store bought apples and think fresh apples will make this so much better :D. Hope you enjoy!!

2 serving butter cooking spray
2 medium apples, McIntosh, peeled, cored and minced
1 Tbsp packed light brown sugar
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
24 wonton wrappers
1 1/2 Tbsp powdered sugar
3 cups vanilla ice cream (optional)

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.

  • In a medium bowl, combine apples, brown sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon; toss to coat apples.

  • Place wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Drop apple mixture  into the center of each wrapper. Moisten edges of wrapper with wet fingers, fold over one corner to make a triangle and press sides together to seal. Transfer filled wrappers to prepared baking sheet and coat surfaces with cooking spray.

  • Bake until wontons are golden brown, about 15 minutes. Place wontons on a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar and a scoop of ice cream. You could also place a mint leaf of top for alittle color.
